To our Valued Customers and Supply Partners:

All three divisions of Wastebuilt Environmental Solutions are open and fully functional to support critical infrastructure in the Sanitation, Sewer and Street sectors as well as other sectors designated as critical infrastructure by governmental authorities.

Wastebuilt’s Response to the COVID – 19 Pandemic

Wastebuilt is first and foremost committed to the safety of its employees and their families, our customers and our suppliers.  As such, we are committed to the following:

  • Wastebuilt will follow guidance from the CDC, as well as State and local government officials, regarding strategies to limit disease spread
  • Our workers are encouraged to work remotely when possible and focus on core business activities
  • In-person non-mandatory activities have been delayed until the resumption of normal operations
  • Wastebuilt has implemented strategies to reduce the likelihood of spreading the disease. These strategies include separating staff by off-setting shift hours or days and/or social distancing. We feel that these steps can preserve the workforce and allow operations to continue
  • We have developed and continue to review business continuity and pandemic plans
  • As Wastebuilt delivers goods and services to our customers, certain workers must be able to access customer sites, facilities, and assets to ensure continuity of functions. We are working with our customers to ensure goods and services continue to be delivered to our customers

Governmental Guidance

On March 16, 2020, the President of the United States issued updated Coronavirus Guidance for America stating that workers in a critical infrastructure industry have a special responsibility to maintain a normal work schedule.  The Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency subsequently recognizing solid waste collection workers as part of the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce.

On March 19, 2020 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency issued further guidance in a memorandum titled “Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce: Ensuring Community and National Resilience in COVID-19 Response”.  In this memorandum, critical infrastructure workers were defined to include workers in the Public Works sector that support the effective removal, storage, and disposal of residential and commercial solid waste.

In addition, several state and local governments have issued Executive Orders to combat the rapid spread of COVID -19.  These directives differ by location but generally require residents to avoid all nonessential outings and stay inside as much as possible.  Wastebuilt has operations in several of these locations.  Most support staff at those locations are in a telecommuting status and working from their homes.  The operations staff at those locations are working at those facilities and those operations remain fully functional.

Moving Forward

As the COVID – 19 pandemic continues, we will work collaboratively with our customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to continue to support critical infrastructure.

We must assume that circumstances concerning this pandemic will continue to create unanticipated changes.  We at Wastebuilt will continue to monitor the impact of these changes and react accordingly.  Wastebuilt is committed to provide goods and services to our customers during this crisis.

Be safe.

Wastebuilt delivers to the county shops and stocks Labrie parts. They provide excellent service and the parts team is very knowledgeable and attentive to our shop’s needs.

Manuel Valdes, Miami Dade County

“Every time we call for parts the person on the other end is very good at what they do. One person in particular is Brad. But, it seems that everyone there is genuinely interested in solving our problem or getting us parts…fast! It is hard to find folks who genuinely give a damn. You guys nailed it. Your service (parts) team is top notch.”
